Frequently Asked Questions Do you have questions? You're not alone!
What can I expect from a Sonne Standard Puppy?
Our puppies are all born and raised in our home. They are vet-checked and are up-to-date on vaccinations when they join their families. We begin interacting with them from Day 1 so that they are very people-oriented pups. It has been found that pups who are stimulated from Day 1 learn very quickly.
Puppies start eating some solid food at four weeks. Our puppies start crate training for naps and over-nights when they are six weeks old. We begin outside training at 5-6 weeks. We begin placing our puppies in their forever homes when they reach eight weeks of age for those families who desire the early bonding experience with their new family member. Many of our puppies stay on longer for additional training. Some move into Service/Therapy dog families. Others are ready for those who prefer to bring a more mature, trained puppy into their home. We strive to raise healthy, happy and balanced puppies who are ready to meet their destiny and bring love to their families and in return to themselves.
Puppies are vet checked at 6 weeks and receive their first set of puppy shots. We de-worm the puppies at 2, 4, 6 & 8 weeks. We take pictures of each puppy frequently so their families can watch them grow. For families who pick their puppies at an early age, we start using your name right away. We use temporary names for the remaining puppies - sometimes families keep the name, and other times, they have a name that is special to them.
I live far away. Can I still adopt one of your puppies?
We prefer that families pick-up their puppy. However, we know that is not always possible. Puppies who join their families between the age of 8-10 weeks are small enough to fly in-cabin with a family member. We are 10 minutes from the Canton/Akron Airport. We are an hour away from the Cleveland Airport. We can meet families at either airport. Some families fly in and spend an evening so they can pick-up their puppy from our home.
How much does a puppy cost?
Pricing for one of our 2018 Standard Poodle puppies is $1650. Pricing includes prepaid AKC Registration(Breeding Rights are Not included in pricing), a starter bag of food, a 3-Year Health Guarantee, Up-to-Date Shot Records and a toy. All of our puppies are micro-chipped. They continue to receive their puppy vaccinations on a 4 week interval for as long as they stay or until they have completed 3 sets of puppy shots and their rabies vaccination. Pricing for our 12 Week Old boys is discounted to $1500 during the month of July.
What form of payment do you accept?
We accept cash or personal checks. If you wish to use a credit card, we can accept those payments through PayPal.
Do you require a deposit to hold a puppy?
Yes. We do require a deposit of $500 to hold the puppy. Deposits are non-refundable. Please make sure that you and your family are ready to commit to a new family member before sending a deposit. The balance due is payable at 8 weeks of age or at pick up if puppy is an older puppy.
I have allergies, may I visit to see if I am allergic to the poodles?
Although poodles are hypoallergenic, my home is not. We live in the middle of farm fields so have lots of dust with the dogs and puppies going in and out. I also babysit for a beagle/terrier mix who is definitely not hypoallergenic. Therefore, my home is not a good place to test to see if you are allergic to poodles.
