Parents: Lyla and Wilson
Birthdate: April 9, 2018
Weekly Weights and Updates
The pups started arriving at 5:12pm on April
9th. The last babe arrived shortly before
midnight. We have 4 boys and 4 girls. Mother
and babes are all doing well. With so many
puppies to care for, Mom has her hands full. I
will be monitoring everyone's weight twice daily
to ensure everyone is getting their fair share of
milk. Pictures will be posted shortly.
1 Week Update
2 Weeks - Update
The puppies all are growing very nicely. They all had their
eyes opened a day before their 2 week birthday. The pups
are used to being held now and snuggle contentedly
against me after their daily weight check.
3 Weeks - Update
The puppies are all doing well. Their ears have opened
now and they are hearing sounds for the first time. They
have started sitting up and taking a couple of steps. In the
coming week, the pups will start walking and playing with
their litter-mates. The pups and Lyla have moved from
the nursery into a playpen crate in the living room on
Saturday just before their 3 week birthday.
4 Weeks - Update
The pups will begin eating solid food today. Lyla has not
begun spending time away from them yet but will begin to
do that in the next day or two. They will have their first
bath and blow-dry today. They had their first grooming
experience on the table yesterday. Their faces and feet
were shaved and they had their nails clipped. I run the
shop vac while they are on the table so that they have
experience with loud noises. Everyone handled the
bathing and grooming experience well.
5 Weeks - Update
The pups continue to grow and gain weight nicely. They
are eating soft food 2 times a day while continuing to
nurse from Mom. Lyla is a devoted mother and continues
to prefer being with the babes. They are playing together
and enjoy having time out of their playpen crate for short
periods. The pups had their microchips inserted at
bath/grooming time this week. We had our AKC
Inspection this week. The inspector was impressed by our
adult dogs and enchanted by the puppies.
6 Weeks - Update
The pups went to the vet for their exam and vaccination.
They have begun going outside and enjoyed running free
in the yard. They were not quite as thrilled with being in
the puppy fencing but settled in to play after a bit of
fussing. We will continue going "outside potty" several
times each day. They will take their daytime naps in small
individual crates while continuing to sleep together in the
playpen crate at overnight.
7 Weeks - Update
The puppies have all been doing fantastic at napping
during the day in their own crates without accidents. We
begin overnight sleeping in their individual crates this
week. They continue to go outside for potty and playtime
several times daily. Playing in the kitchen with all the
toys is especially fun for them. They are a very loving
group and enjoy cuddling and giving sweet little kisses.
8 Weeks - Update
The puppies are sleeping overnight in their individual
crates. They go to bed around 9:30pm and sleep through
until 6:30am without accidents. They settle right down
once the music is on and the lights are out. No whining
about bedtime from this group.
